Born on May 26, 1949 in Kamensk-Uralsky, Sverdlovsk Region.

1973: graduated from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.

1973 - 1986: junior researcher, then senior researcher at the Research Institute of the Defence Ministry of the Russian Federation

1986 - 1995: worked at the Central Machine-Building Research Institute (Kaliningrad, Moscow Region), rising from section head to department head.

1995 - 2002: worked at the Government Staff as advisor to the Department of Defence Industries, aide to the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, advisor to the Defence Complex Department.

2002 - 2006: State Secretary - First Deputy Director General of the Russian Aerospace Agency, Deputy Chief of the Federal Space Agency.

Since May 30, 2006: Director of the Department of the Defence Industry and High Technologies of the Government of the Russian Federation.

Since February 3, 2010: Director of the Department of the Defence Industry of the Government of the Russian Federation. 

Holder of the Order of Honour.
State Counsellor of the Russian Federation, 2nd class, Merited Machine-Builder of the Russian Federation, winner of the Russian Government's prize in the field of science and technology, Cand.Sc. (Technology).
Married, with two sons.
